Sevan
Sevan is one of five urban communities in Gegharkunik region with the total area of 1,775.7km2 and population of 24,060. Located 65 km from Yerevan at an altitude of 1,925m above sea level, it occupies the north-western shore of Lake Sevan at the intersection of Areguni, Pambak and Geghama Mountain Ranges.
The coastal areas of the community provide significant opportunities for tourism and recreation. It stands out by its rich water resources and cultural monuments.
A number of projects have been implemented in the community over the past years due to investments by international and local organizations. Many NGOs, associations and foundations operate in the community.
One of the central directions of social and economic development is the expansion of small and medium enterprises and tourism. The majority of Sevan community population works in the fields of education, culture and services.
